Alarming Video Captures Point Law Enforcement Are Stabbed in Unexpected Assault

Both Senior Officers Instants Before the Assailant Received Electric Shock

One police sergeant who rushed to the aid of a partner that was assaulted by a blade-wielder has been awarded the King's Commendation for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell grappled with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown following he placed a knife to the neck of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist after a vehicle incident in the area in summer 2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a stun gun.

"Officer knifed," PC Wolstencroft was heard to say over his communication device.

Bodyworn and dashcam footage made public by the agency revealed Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a hood up, rush to Sergeant Foster from behind with a blade pointed forward.

He collided with the officer who stumbled and dropped to the street, after which Sgt Ansell intervened and tried to wrestle him to the ground although being continually attacked with the knife.

Police Constable Wolstencroft Stunned the Attacker, Jacob Brown, with a Taser

Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and sought a safe opportunity, bringing the fight to an finish.

Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "Can I get help on my neck now, I've been stabbed in the neck."

Sgt Ansell suffered multiple deep cuts to his neck and additional cuts to his limbs and body, while Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.

The department reported Sgt Foster employed his hands to control his colleague's bleeding before medical personnel arrived.

The new award follows after the law enforcement team were granted internal Valor Recognitions in October 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the local Police Federation in April 2024.

They were also awarded a Regional Valor Recognition in summer 2024.

"The responses of the entire team eventually saved themselves and resulted in no civilians endured any harm."

Brown was given to an psychiatric detention in spring 2024, per the department.
